Urvin Finance Inc. (“Urvin,” “we,” or “us”) provides, via our website and mobile application, a finance-focused social platform that enables individuals (“users”) and communities to access, develop, and share market information and analyses, and to connect and collaborate with one another (the “Services”). The Services also allow companies to discover, connect and communicate with their shareholders. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share that data, and your choices concerning our data practices

Personal information we collect

Information you provide to us:
  • Contact and account information, such as names, emails, telephone numbers, addresses, photos and avatars, and any brokerage accounts you connect to the Services.
  • Engagement and activity, including information about your portfolio and investments, stocks that you monitor, investment strategies and analyses, posts and communications, engagement with communities, and other information you provide in the course of your use of the Services.
  • Payment information, including your payment card number, which we collect using a payment service provider. The information provided to payment service provider in connection with payments and transactions is handled in accordance with the provider’s terms and privacy policies.
  • Feedback or correspondence, such as information you provide when contacting us with questions, or provide feedback, product reviews, or otherwise correspond with us.
  • Marketing information, such as your preferences for receiving communications about our activities and publications, and details about how you engage with our communications, and what events, webinars, courses and other arrangements you sign up for.
Information we obtain from third parties:
  • Social media information. If you choose to link your account on the Services to a social media handle, we receive information from the social media account you have linked, including your handle name, account ID, and other related information. We also maintain pages on social media platforms, such as X, Reddit, YouTube, Spotify, Twitch and Discord. When visiting or interacting with our pages on those platforms, the platform provider’s privacy policy will apply to such interactions and their collection, use and processing of personal information. Such platforms and their users may provide us with information through the platform, and we will treat such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
  • Third-party credentials. You may also access the Services using a third-party service, such as Google. If you sign up for or login to the Services with a third-party service, you direct the third party to send us information (e.g., contact information) controlled by that service or as authorized by you via your privacy settings at that service. The information we receive when you authenticate through a third-party service depends on the settings, permissions and privacy policy controlled by that third-party service. Automatic data collection.
We automatically log information when you use the Services, such as the type of computer or mobile device accessing our Services, and interactions over time with our Services. This information includes:
  • Your actions on the Services, such as pages or screens viewed, how long was spent on a page or screen, browsing history, navigation paths between pages or screens, account and profile settings, information about activity on a page or screen, access times, and duration of access, and whether marketing emails were opened or links within them clicked.
  • Device data, such as the computer or mobile device’s operating system type and version, manufacturer and model, browser type, screen resolution, device type (e.g., phone, tablet), IP address, unique identifiers (including identifiers used for advertising purposes), language settings, and general location information (derived from IP address) such as city, state or geographic area.
We use the following tools for automatic data collection:
  • Cookies, which are text files that websites store on a visitor‘s device to uniquely identify the visitor’s browser or to store information or settings in the browser for the purpose of helping navigate between pages efficiently, remembering preferences, enabling functionality, helping us understand user activity and patterns, and facilitating online advertising.
  • Local storage technologies, like HTML5, that provide cookie-equivalent functionality but can store larger amounts of data, including on devices outside of browsers in connection with specific applications.
  • Web beacons, also known as pixel tags or clear GIFs, which are used to demonstrate that a webpage or email was accessed or opened, or that certain content was viewed or clicked.

How we use personal information

To operate and deliver the Services in accordance with our Terms of Service:

  • Account creation, including registering and identifying you as a user setting up your profile, and logging and saving your account and profile settings.
  • Providing, operating, maintaining, and securing your account and the Services, and allowing you to engage with features of the Services as well as to communicate with other users of the Services.
  • Communicating with you about the Services, including by responding to questions, providing customer support, and sending announcements, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages.
  • Resolving disputes, collecting fees, and troubleshooting problems.

For business and product development.We may use personal information for legitimate interests such as to analyze and improve the Services, develop new products and services, identify usage trends, and operate and expand our business activities. We make also deidentify or aggregate personal information and use it for our lawful business purposes, including to analyze and improve the Services and for benchmarking purposes.

Marketing and advertising. We may use your personal information for our legitimate interests to promote and market our Services (where required by applicable laws, we will ask your consent before engaging in these activities). Our marketing and advertising includes:

  • Direct marketing,including sending you newsletters and email marketing in accordance with your preferences, providing you offers, guides, events, webinars, and relevant promotions, and tailoring communications with you to accommodate your areas of interest and focus.
  • Interest-based advertising.We may engage third-party advertising companies to display ads promoting our services across the web. These companies may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about interactions over time across the Internet and use that information to serve online ads that they think will be of interest.

To comply with law. As we believe necessary or appropriate to comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, and legal process, such as to respond to subpoenas or requests from government authorities.

For compliance, fraud prevention, and safety.We may use personal information for our legitimate interests and in accordance with our legal obligations to: (a) protect our or others’ rights, privacy, safety or property (including by making and defending legal claims); (b) enforce the terms and conditions that govern the Services; and (c) protect, investigate and deter against fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical, or illegal activity.

How we share personal information

Service providers. We share personal information with service providers that help us operate the Services, such as hosting services, cloud services, information technology services, email communication software and email newsletter services, advertising and marketing services, payment processors, customer relationship management and customer support services, and web analytics services. We also rely on banking and financial service providers to allow you to connect your brokerage account to the Services.

Issuers and other companies. We may share personal information with companies that use our Services to connect and communicate with their shareholders and stakeholders. For example, if you hold a public company’s stock, we may share information with that company to allow the company to engage with you and solicit your feedback on shareholder matters.

Advertising partners. We share information with third party advertising companies to help us promote our Services to you and other potential users, including for interest-based advertising, as described in our Cookie Policy.

Professional advisors. We may disclose personal information to professional advisors, such as lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers, where necessary in the course of the professional services that they render to us.

For compliance, fraud prevention and safety. We may share personal information for the compliance, fraud prevention, and safety purposes described above.

Your profile. When you establish an account on the Services, you may share certain profile information and information about your engagement and activity on the Services with members of the Urvin community, including issuers as described above.

Communicating with other users. The Services allow you to interact with and communicate with other users. If you choose to disclose personal information to others on the Services, we are not responsible for how other users use of the information you share.

Privacy choices

Access or update account information. Users who have registered for an account with us, may review and update certain personal information in their account profile by logging into the account.

Opt out of marketing communications. Recipients of marketing emails may opt out of marketing-related emails by following the opt-out or unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of the email or by contacting us at privacy@urvin.finance . Even if you opt out, you will continue to receive service-related and other non-marketing emails. 

Your privacy rights. The laws of your country of residence (including if you live in the European Union or United Kingdom) may give you certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access. Obtain information about our processing of your personal information and receive access to your personal information.
  • Correct.Update or correct inaccuracies in your personal information.
  • Delete. Delete your personal information.
  • Transfer. Transfer a machine-readable copy of your personal information to you or a third party of your choice.
  • Restrict. Restrict the processing of your personal information.
  • Object.Object to certain processing activities involving your personal information.

Applicable law may require or permit us to decline your request. If we decline your request, we will tell you why, subject to legal restrictions. If you would like to submit a complaint about our use of your personal information or our response to your requests regarding your personal information, you may contact us or submit a complaint to the data protection regulator in your jurisdiction.

Online tracking opt-out.There are a number of ways to opt out of having online activity and device data collected through our Services, including:
  • Blocking cookies in your browser. Most browsers let you remove or reject cookies, including cookies used for interest-based advertising. To do this, follow the instructions in your browser settings. Many browsers accept cookies by default until you change your settings. Note that because these opt out mechanisms are specific to the device or browser on which they are exercised, you will need to opt out on every browser and device that you use.

Security practices

We use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures designed to protect against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, disclosure, alteration and destruction of personal information we maintain. Unfortunately, data transmission over the Internet cannot be guaranteed as completely secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect personal information, we cannot guarantee its security.

Children

The Services are not directed to children, and you must be over 18 years old to use our services and website.

Data storage and retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, to establish or defend legal claims, or for fraud prevention purposes.

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal information, the purposes for which we process your personal information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.

If we transfer your personal information from Europe to another country such that we are required to apply appropriate safeguards to your personal information under European data protection laws, we will do so. We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by updating the date of this Privacy Policy and posting it on the website. If you are a registered user, we will notify you using the email address you gave us when you signed up if we make material changes made to the Privacy Policy.
